I've been getting disconected constantly due to:
06/05/13 15:42:16 Disconnected due to port error
I've gone through just about every board and message I can find and nothing seems to work.
My port is forwarded and open.
My system clock is fine.
It seems to be resolving my IP.
It's not Share because in the short time I'm up, I actaully connect to files and start getting up and down speeds.
Can someone help?
Anyone with the same problem??
Do you have Kaspesky (or another) antivirus with a higher than normal protection setting?
No... it's all off. the only thing i have is my router firewall and i have a hole puched through it. so that should be working. i even double checked my system clock just to be safe... everything seems to be working perfectly. this is seriously baffling me.
try connecting directly to the internet line without the router, if that works then it's the router at fault here, which is true in most cases.
god...
ok it was stupider than i thought. i was overlooked something as simple as telling it the right network IP.
talk about a rookie mistake... >_<
Sol, what do you mean by "telling it the right network IP"? I've been having the same problem.

He'd forwarded the port to the wrong local network IP address.
It worked! Thanks you guys.
Greeting ppl
I have been trying Share for half year on and off with no luck, that I was never able to use it...anyway I try it again recently and it give me port error, so I would really like to know, how do I forward port?
Link or explaination would be nice, cuz I am really a newbie in this kind of thing.
many thanks
There's no easy way to teach you, each router can be different, it's all in your router's manual, or on the manufacturer's website.
I had the same problem. I use Win-XP and I have Zone Alarm firewall. I solved it when I opened my internet connection properties/Advanced and unchecked my Windows firewall. I still have Zone Alarm firewall blocking unwanted internet traffic. But Share works perfectly now.
I had this problem as well and after a few hours was FINALLY able to fix it.
Whilst in my Network Connections area, I went to the properties of my Internet Connection (Specifically, the one under 'Internet Gateway'; not my Local Area Connection). Once there, I went to settings and added 2 services. Both were named Share and for the IP address, I used my own, instead of the router's or the master computers -my computer is far down a chain of routers. For both of the ports (Internal/External) I used the port that I set up in Share. The only differences between the two that I made were that one was TCP and the other was UDP. After doing this, I restarted Share and, to my utmost surprise, was met WITHOUT the horrific 'Disconnected due to port error'. I hope this was of some use to someone!
