Have tried Share on several occasions. Turned off firewall protection in computer.
Always cuts me off in one or two minutes with Port Error.
I changed Port numbers, still cuts me off.
I have DSL.System clock OK.
I do not understand.
Please help !!
Thanks.
If you use a router it sounds like you need to open and forward the port on that. This is beyond the scope of Share/Winny.
If not that I don't know either.
fucking idiot cant u faggots fuck off?
Do like #2 says and check your router firewall. Also, if you have a linksys router you may need to get replacement firmware from a 3rd party source because some of the linksys routers can't handle p2p traffic with the linksys firmware. If you do all that and it still doesn't work, maybe your ISP is firewalling you.
roybern did you ever get it working?
Thank you for checking.
I made Share an exception with the Windows Firewall.
I have tried several port numbers and the Log gets as far as 'Global IP resolve' but then a couple minutes later it always cuts off with the 'Disconnected due to port error' message.
Also, the priority numbers do not seem to change on the Nodes screen.
Any further advice ? I don't have a router.BellSouth DSL modem.
I get the same problem now. Share use to work fine before, dont know what happened. Using linksys router with tomato firmware. Forwarded the port. It would search down for a minute or so and then stops with port error. No search up at all.

You might have to write the forwarding rule directly in the config file instead of using the web UI.
