Data block corrupted (10)

The file I downloaded is showing as complete, but when I convert it, it comes up with "data block corrupted" error and so I don't get the whole file. It doesn't re-download the corrupted block as it thinks it's complete. What can I do?

Highlight the file under the Querey tab, right click and select "Check and Recover."

Now I have a file which I downloaded twice. I tried 'Check and Recover' several times but it will not convert.
I guess the original file is corrupted .... unless, someone can assist ???

I'd guess your hard disk has bad sectors or corruption, run scandisk.

I've had several files where the same corrupt block has downloaded over 50 times. Chances are someone else has a bad copy of it and you'll have to wait until you connect to someone with a good copy of the file.

I'd still check my own hard drive and just to be double sure maybe even your memory.

I had those problems with eMule a long ago: finally i've traced the problem down to a funky HD paired with an el-cheapo noname motherboard. Since then, i've moved to a MORE RELIABLE PC, and i haven't experienced such problems after that (aside of a HD crash that wiped my Share cache).

If you're using a cheap computer, get ready for problems like this one. Check your hard drive with ScanDisk/fsck/SpinRite/HDAT2, check your RAM with memtest86, and, once in a year, do a burn-in/stress test.

Hi, I have this problem too.
My download is completed, but when it tries to convert to file, it encounters the "data block corrupted" error. At one point it would check for errors then re-download the specific portion. It would then start converting from scratch again. This repeated a couple times until I rebooted.

When I go to the Queries tab, nothing shows up, so I cannot "Check and Recover".
Any help?

Make a new query (search) for said file.
