I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw that most of the file traders in Japan (if not all) have incredible speeds.
T1 or T3+ seem to be the default, where as here in America we
are still dealing with poor connection rates.
I think it's an injustice that we have to ALWAYS get screwed big
time by big corporations. It sucks to be on the other side
of the coin...
And to top it off, users in Japan won't trade with you unless
you have a "decent" connection! Like hell that's going to happen!
I hope I move to Japan soon xD
and to think that Korea has even better internet....
And to think that Finland and Norway have even better internet....
LOL! You don't suppose anyone is completely lying when they set their connection type to T3+ (I assume you see this on an opennap client). Japan and Korea do have better internet speeds in general, but not that good. Don't rely on what their client reports to you.
I lived in Korea for 9 years. When I left, I had a 1Gbps dedicated upload and download for 32 bucks a month. Then I come back to the states and have to pay 50 bucks for a measley 15 Mbps download and .5Mbps upload. Completely sucks. Free internet is faster than that in Korea, and here we are getting robbed.
Here in Venezuela we pay $40 for 1 megabit. ONE PATHETIC MEGABIT. Ah, the upload should be 512K (and used to be good while it lasted), but recently has been dropped to 128K for most users.
Other ISPs sell faster download connections, but they're very capped, and are not cheap at all. The only good and positive thing? Nobody uses traffic shaping/deep packet scanning: our connection is already sucky for those purposes :)
Here in germany we have 23Mbit down / 1 Mbit Up (Which is not very much!, but it depends on the area and might go up to 3)...for 20€ ...if you have the cable for free
